Macron furious at Trump

French President Emmanuel Macron claimed on Wednesday that foreign leaders were trying to exploit France's tense social climate for their own political agendas. In fact, US President Donald Trump had said, "Close your borders and take control before it's too late."

Macron responded that following the looting in Paris and other French cities last weekend, "misinformation has been spread abroad." He said, "This has led to comments from many people, including foreign leaders, that are as unacceptable as they are absurd." When a journalist asked Macron whether he was referring to Trump, the president did not give a direct answer.
