New Delhi: Amid the ongoing war in the Middle East, another piece of good news has emerged for India. The India-bound LPG vessel MV Sunshine is crossing the Strait of Hormuz. The Indian Navy and other agencies are providing security to the vessel to ensure its uninterrupted movement towards India. This is the 15th LPG vessel to be safely evacuated from the Persian Gulf.
According to a report by news agency ANI, MV Sunshine is crossing the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday night. According to reports, the Indian Navy is continuously monitoring the ship and providing it with a protective shield. However, the amount of LPG gas present on board is not yet known.
The LPG tanker MV Sunshine, en route to India from the Persian Gulf, is currently safely transiting the Strait of Hormuz. It is reported that this is the 15th LPG tanker to be safely evacuated to India amid regional tensions. The ship is currently heading towards India and is being provided with all necessary security cover.
Meanwhile, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri stated that despite the ongoing tensions in West Asia, India has managed the energy supply situation well. He said that the government has made efforts to minimize the impact on the general public. Hardeep Singh Puri also stated that domestic LPG production has been increased during this period to ensure that supplies are not affected.
Meanwhile, reacting to the regional situation, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi on Wednesday, said that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz will improve once peace is established. He also accused the US of not engaging in serious diplomacy.
"Strait of Hormuz situation will be better than before once peace is established. There will be transparency. There will be no discrepancy. We will not go beyond international law. If peace is established, it will have more safety and security than before," Gharibabadi added.
Expressing confidence in India's role, Gharibabadi said that any diplomatic initiative by India to reduce tensions in West Asia would be welcomed.
"India has always supported peace and is always in favour of peace," he added.
He praised India's "impartial" policy, saying that India has always been in favor of peace. Iran, citing the deep ties between the two countries, described India and Iran as "two countries linked by a common culture" and stressed the need to further strengthen mutual cooperation.
