Six Family Members Shot Dead in Iowa, Suspected Gunman Dies by Suicide

New Delhi: A very tragic incident has occurred in the city of Muscatine. Six people of the same family were shot dead. Altogether 7 people have died. This also includes the person who fired the shot. The police are calling it the result of a domestic dispute.

How did the police come to know? 

Around noon the police got a call that there had been shots fired in a house. When the team reached there, they were stunned to see the view inside. Four people were lying soaked in blood in the house. All four were shot and died on the spot.

Who fired the bullet? 

The police immediately revealed the name of the attacker. Ryan Willis McFarland, 52, of Muscatine. He had run away from home before the police arrived.

Was he caught or not? 

The police found him. Muscatine Police Chief Anthony Keyes said that as officers tried to talk to Ryan, he shot himself. The police tried to save him but he did not survive.

Did people die in only one house? 

No, the story did not end here. While investigating, the police found two more dead bodies. One from another house and one from a shop or office. Both were also shot. Police said that the incidents at these three places are interconnected.

How many people died in total? 

A total of 7: 4 in the first house, 2 in the other two, and Ryan the attacker himself. Police believe that all those who died were relatives of Ryan. Some domestic dispute took such a big form.

Muscatine is a small city, about 23 thousand people live there. Everyone is shaken by such a big incident. Police Chief Keyes simply said that this evil deed has torn the entire city apart. He was left with no words to speak.
