New Delhi: Another big claim has come to light amid the ongoing conflict between Iran and America. Iran said it has shot down an American F-18 fighter plane near Chabahar. However, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) immediately rejected this claim and called it a lie.
Iran's state media released a video, which showed a fighter jet flying in the sky falling after being hit by a missile. Linking the video to Chabahar area, it was claimed that it was an American aircraft.
CENTCOM clearly wrote on social media that Iran's claim is false. According to him, no American F-18 aircraft has been damaged. He simply termed such claims as “false”.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps says that it targeted this plane in the sky of Jask with its air defense system. According to him, the attack was accurate and the plane fell into the sea.
The US Defense Department has also not confirmed any damage. Neither any pilot was reported missing, nor was there any news of any rescue operations. Usually in such cases some information comes to light, but this did not happen here.
In the current situation, the claims of both sides are different. In such a situation, it is also believed that the war is being fought not only with weapons but also through information. Every side is trying to show its strong position.
There have been reports of American drones and some aircraft falling during this conflict. There has also been confirmation regarding the MQ-9 Reaper drone, but a different reason was given behind each incident, sometimes a technical fault and sometimes 'friendly fire'.
The American command says that their fighter jets have flown over Iran thousands of times, but Iran has not succeeded in directly shooting down any plane.
At present the picture is not clear. On one side there are videos and claims, on the other side there are their denials. In such a situation, it is clear that in this war, both truth and claims are moving in different directions.
