International News: The war between Israel and Hamas continues to intensify, and a major development has come from the Gaza Strip. According to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), Hamas's deputy battalion commander Salah al-Din Zara has been killed in an airstrike. His death is being seen as a major blow to Hamas, which is already under pressure from continuous Israeli military operations.
As per official reports from the IDF, Salah al-Din Zara was killed on July 24, 2025, during a targeted strike carried out by Israeli forces in Gaza. Zara was serving as the deputy commander of Hamas’s Al-Furqan Battalion, one of the group’s active and dangerous units in the region.
Before holding this high position, Zara had been the commander of the combat support company within the same battalion. He was believed to be behind several terror attacks on Israeli soldiers and civilians. His planning and leadership had reportedly contributed to many deadly operations in the past. With his death, the IDF claims that they have taken down a key figure in Hamas's military chain.
Salah al-Din Zara was not just any commander; he was known for his strong influence within the battalion and for leading operations that directly threatened Israel’s security. He had participated in various attacks, ranging from border infiltration to rocket launches aimed at Israeli towns.
According to IDF intelligence, Zara played a major role in organizing logistics, planning missions, and supplying weapons to fighters. He was considered a core part of the team that helped Hamas continue its fight against Israel, especially in areas like northern and central Gaza.
The elimination of Zara is being treated as a tactical success for Israel. Military experts believe that this move may disturb Hamas's internal structure and reduce its ability to coordinate attacks. However, Hamas has not officially confirmed his death, and it’s unclear who will replace him.
Israeli officials have said that the operation to target him was based on accurate intelligence. They also stated that the mission was carried out in such a way as to avoid harm to civilians as much as possible, although details of casualties have not yet been released.
The Gaza Strip has been at the center of violence for several months. The ongoing war between Hamas and Israel has resulted in the deaths of hundreds, with thousands injured. Civilians on both sides are suffering from air raids, rocket attacks, and military blockades.
Despite international calls for a ceasefire, the violence shows no sign of ending soon. With the killing of a senior Hamas leader, Israel has made it clear that it will continue its military campaign until all key figures involved in terror activities are removed.
