International News: America's streets are roiled these days. Demonstrations are being held across the country regarding immigration policy, which are now taking violent forms. Especially in big cities like California, Los Angeles, and New York, the situation has become uncontrollable. The protesters on the streets are facing the police, the vehicles have been set on fire, and serious questions have arisen on law and order.
The situation in California deteriorated so much that there was a direct clash between the protesters and the police. Angry people set the vehicles on fire and ransacked them. The police had to resort to tear gas to control the mob. The situation in Los Angeles also remained similar, where incidents of violence and arson came to light in many areas.
President Donald Trump has taken a tough stand to control the situation. He has ordered more than 2000 national guards to be deployed in California and Los Angeles. Along with this, he warned the governors of the states that there will be no softening from the rioters. Trump simply said that "If the state governments are unable to handle the situation, the federal government will take action."
Reacting to violence and sabotage, Trump has reprimanded the governors. He said that the situation has deteriorated due to "weak attitude," and the protesters are getting unbridled due to lack of strict action. It is clear from Trump's statement that his government is no longer ready to face protests, and control will be established under any circumstances.
The beginning of this violence is considered to be a raid in Los Angeles. A few days ago, the federal immigration agency Ice put raids at three different places, in which more than 44 people were detained. The arrested people also included one of the leading union leaders, David Huerta. In protest against this, hundreds of people came out on the streets and on seeing the demonstrations, they became fierce and violent.
Immigration policy has been debated earlier in the US, but this time the matter was not limited to policies only. It now seems to change the confrontation of Trump vs. Public. While the government is considering it as a question of law and order, the public is calling it an issue of human rights and justice. This struggle may become faster in the coming days.
