Madrid: India's most wanted gangster, Goldy Dhillon, has been apprehended in Spain. Acting on precise intelligence provided by the Punjab Anti-Gangster Task Force, Spanish security agencies successfully tracked down and arrested him. Dhillon is the prime accused in plotting the murder of Janki Das, a cashier at 'Shri Kumar Medical Hall' in Chandigarh’s Sector 11.
Operating from overseas, Goldy Dhillon managed an extensive criminal network back in India. Following his capture in Spain, Indian authorities are now fast-tracking preparations to extradite him.
He had been on the radar of Indian security agencies for a long time, with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) previously placing a bounty of Rs. 10 lakh on his head. Once brought back to India, the Chandigarh Police will interrogate him regarding his direct involvement in the Janki Das homicide.
Dhillon originally fled India in 2022 to evade law enforcement. On June 13, 2026, Janki Das was targeted and killed in Chandigarh. It was a crime for which Dhillon openly claimed responsibility. This confession triggered an intensified international manhunt by Indian intelligence, ultimately culminating in his arrest.
Dhillon, originally, belongs to Punjab's Rajpura. His criminal trajectory began with local cases of assault and extortion before he integrated into major criminal syndicates. While he was once a close associate of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, he had recently parted ways with the syndicate to operate independently.
