International News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi started his five-day foreign tour on Saturday, in which he is on a trip to Cyprus, Canada, and Croatia. The tour is his first international visit to Operation Sindoor. Operation Sindoor was a counter-airplane attack in Pakistan by India, which was carried out after the death of 26 people in the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April. The Prime Minister's visit is with the aim of further strengthening India's foreign policy, empowering the presence of the country on global forums and giving new direction to strategic partnerships.

Cyprus: Indian Prime Minister's historic visit after two decades

Modi's first stop is Cyprus, where he will stay on 15 and 16 June. This is the first official visit of any Indian Prime Minister in two decades. After reaching Larnaka, the Prime Minister met business leaders in Limasol. After this, President Nicos Christodolides gave dinner in his honor.

The Prime Minister's program will be held in Nicosia on 16 June, where he will be formally welcomed. This will be followed by high level talks, delegation level meetings and joint press statements with the President. The tour will give a new strength to economic, cultural and political relations between India and Cyprus.

Canada: Modi's presence at G-7 conference & hope of improving bilateral relations

After Cyprus, the Prime Minister will attend the G-7 summit held in Kananaskis, Canada on 16 and 17 June. The Prime Minister was invited by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to attend the conference.

This tour is taking place at a time when the India-Canada relations have been going through sour years for the last few years.
