Nepal's Interim Govt to Provide Rs 1 lakh to Families of Deceased

Nepal's Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has announced that the interim government will also provide 1 lakh Nepali rupees to the kin of the deceased.

Nepal Gen Z protest: After the formation of Nepal's interim PM, several announcement has been done. In a latest development, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has announced that the Nepal's interim government will provide free transport services to the family members of deceased to transport their bodies. 

Not just this, Nepal's home minister also announced that the interim government will also provide 1 lakh Nepali rupees to the kin of the deceased. He also announced that the country will observe national mourning, and Nepal's flag will be flown at half-mast.

Nepal Gen Z Protest

It is to be noted here that as many as 72 people died in the Nepal's Gen Z protests, which lead to the resignation of the former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The protest started over a ban of over 26 social media platforms, including Facebook, YouTube and X.  

Om Prakash Aryal sworn in as Nepal's Home Minister

It is to be mentioned here that Om Prakash Aryal was sworn in as Nepal's Home Minister. Along with Aryal, Kulman Ghising and Rameshwor Khanal were also sworn in as ministers. The oath was administered by Nepal President Ramchandra Paudel.
Khanal has been given the finance ministry portfolio, while Ghising was given the charge of energy, water resources and irrigation; physical infrastructure and transport; and urban development.

The decision was taken after Sushila Karki took charge as the country's interim prime minister.  

Sushila Karki's warning to those who vandalism during protests

After taking charge as the interim prime minister of Nepal, Sushila Karki on Sunday said that those involved in vandalism and destruction during the anti-government protests in the country will be brought to justice. In her statement, Karki said, "The kind of arson and vandalism that has taken place is a criminal act. This was carried out in an organised manner. Those responsible must be punished."
