North Korea Builds Secret Base Near China, Deploys 9 Nuclear Missiles

In view of global tensions, North Korea has built a secret base. According to a U.S. think tank, Kim Jong-un’s government has stationed 9 nuclear missiles and their launchers at this base, which can be used to attack enemy countries in an emergency. The base is named Sinpung-Dang and is located 27 km away from the China border. North Korea has not yet responded regarding this base. According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), North Korea currently possesses 50 nuclear weapons, which could cause massive destruction worldwide.

Where is the Sinpung-Dang Base Located?

The Sinpung-Dang base is located near an island in North Pyongyang, just 27 km from the China border and about 7,000 km from the United States. America’s allies, Japan and South Korea, are less than 100 km away from here. Sinpung-Dang is considered a secret base by China. A U.S. think tank said in its report that the base is quite large. At least 15 missiles can be stationed here. Till now, North Korea has not made any kind of remark on this base. An underground system has been built here. According to the media reports, construction of this base began in 2004, and it became operational in 2014. Since that year, soldiers from the North Korean region have been active at that location. The report stated that the base covers an area of 22 square kilometres.

Why Did North Korea Build This Base?

This military base is located on a mountain near China. Experts say that North Korea’s dictator took great care in building this base. North Korea believes that even in a war situation, the U.S. will not attack this base because any attack on it would directly affect China. In such a scenario, China could also enter the conflict against the U.S., potentially escalating into a major war. For this reason, North Korea built the secret base at Sinpung-Dang. Initially, North Korea had hidden the base under tree branches, but it has now been revealed.
