Lahore: Following the Israeli and US attacks on Iran, the Shia community worldwide has expressed grief over the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In Pakistan, several people attacked the US consulate in Karachi following Khamenei's assassination, resulting in the deaths of dozens of people.

Now, a prominent Shia cleric has warned Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to immediately withdraw from Trump's Gaza Peace Board. He stated that Islamabad should not participate, as it serves the interests of Zionists.

According to reports, while addressing a gathering in Gilgit Baltistan, prominent Shia cleric Sheikh Najafi said, "I will not use this gathering for political purposes, but I will definitely say one thing: whoever recites the Kalma of 'Ali-un-Wali-Ullah, spread my message to every corner of the country, let all of Pakistan hear it."

He clarified that his warning was directed at the government and its allies. He said, "If you do not withdraw from Trump's Peace Board, which was formed under the leadership of Jews and Zionism, before the elections in Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan, you will face humiliation and disgrace in every street of Pakistan, especially in Gilgit-Baltistan." Najafi also appealed directly to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, asking, "Are you willing to sacrifice your blood for the support and obedience of your leader?"

Continuing his point, he said that if the government does not resolve the Peace Board issue as soon as possible, it must be prepared to face humiliation. He said, "We reiterate our promise to the martyr (Khamenei) and the incoming leader. The Muslim League (Nawaz) and its supporting parties will be disgraced. This is our final message." It is noteworthy that this statement from the Shia cleric comes at a time when elections are imminent in Gilgit-Baltistan.

What is Donald Trump's Gaza Peace Board?

The US President, who brokered the so-called peace between Israel and Hamas, established the Gaza Peace Board with the permission of the United Nations. It was launched as a temporary arrangement, consisting of various international figures, regional countries, and the people of the Palestinian territories. Trump believes that this organization will be used to rebuild Gaza and manage it. However, there is confusion in global politics regarding this board. US President Trump has appointed himself as the permanent chairman of this board. Furthermore, any country joining it will have to pay a hefty price of approximately $1 billion for permanent membership. Pakistan is one of the few countries that has agreed to become a member of this board.
