Islamabad: The peace talks between the US and Iran in Islamabad have failed after the two sides failed to reach a permanent agreement following a two-week ceasefire following a 40-day war. US Vice President JD Vance claimed that Iran did not accept the conditions.

What did US President say?

US Vice President said that we had made the best offer to Iran, stating that after 21 hours of talks no concrete results emerged from the talks.

Vance said that the US had made the best offer to Iran, but Iran did not accept it.

"The bad news is that we haven't reached an agreement, and I think that's worse news for Iran than for the United States. So we're going back to the United States without reaching an agreement. We've made it very clear what our red lines are: what we're willing to accept, and what we won't. But they refused to accept our terms," JD Vance said.

Regarding Iran's nuclear program, he also said that "Iran's former nuclear enrichment facilities were destroyed, but the question is whether Iran will not work towards creating nuclear weapons permanently," he said.

JD Vance said that the failure of the talks is more bad news for Iran than for the US.

Why did Iran reject the deal?

According to Iran's state media, Press TV, the US had made excessive demands. The talks did not succeed because the US put forward some conditions that Iran could not accept.

The report said that US tried to get all those things which it could not get during the war.

The report also said Iran rejected the US's conditions, especially on the Strait of Hormuz, peaceful nuclear energy and other issues.

Why couldn't the matter be resolved?

Iran and the US held 21 hours of talks in Islamabad on Saturday. A face-to-face meeting with Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was also held late at night, but nothing came of it.

What was the reason for this?

Pakistani journalist Nuaman Ishfaq Mughal explained that Iran did not agree to the offer made by US President Donald Trump. Iran wanted pre-war conditions. That is, the situation before the war.

He said that Iran wanted to be recognized as having control over the Strait of Hormuz and to be compensated for the damage caused by the war. But the US did not agree to this either.

What does Iran have to say?

There has been no official statement from Iran yet. However, its state media, Press TV, says the US made excessive demands. Press TV stated, "Talks between Iran and the US in Islamabad have ended because the US was making excessive demands, which prevented an agreement."

Iran's Fars News Agency, quoting Iranian sources, said that the US was demanding everything it could not achieve during the war.

Quoting sources close to the Iranian delegation, Fars News Agency said, "Through negotiations, the US demanded everything it could not achieve during the war."

The source said that Iran did not accept America's 'ambitious conditions' regarding the Strait of Hormuz, peaceful nuclear program and many other issues.
