Plane Makes Emergency Landing on US Highway, Slams Into Moving Car; Horrifying Video Surfaces

Florida : A very unusual accident happened on the I-95 highway in Florida (America) at around 5:45 pm on Monday evening. A small private plane (Beechcraft 55) was forced to make an emergency landing after experiencing a sudden technical failure. But due to not being able to find a landing strip, the pilot made the highway his last hope. At the same time, a 2023 model Toyota Camry car traveling south was approaching from behind, and within moments the plane crashed head-on into the same car. 

How was the horrifying scene seen in the dashcam video?

This entire incident was captured in the dashcam of another car. In the video you can see – the car is moving at a normal speed, when suddenly the plane comes down from the sky, tries to land tightly on the road, and then hits the back of the car with a huge crash. A moment's mistake—and a terrible accident. 

How did the woman car driver survive?

A 57-year-old woman was driving the car. The impact of the collision was so severe that the rear part of the car – especially the trunk – was completely broken, but surprisingly he suffered only minor injuries. He was immediately taken to the hospital. Reports say he was recruited by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). 

Pilot and companion on board the plane safe

The plane was flying with a 27-year-old pilot and a companion of the same age. Both of them survived this tragic accident completely safely. There was significant damage to the nose section and landing gear of the aircraft, but the pilot-mate suffered no serious injuries. 

Chaos on the highway – traffic stopped, rescue team deployed

The highway was immediately closed after the collision. Relief and rescue teams, police and local officials reached the spot, removed the debris and saw the condition of the injured woman. Because of this, the traffic was jammed that evening. Later the highway gradually opened. The investigation is now underway. 

In which direction is the investigation going on now?

Efforts are still on to determine how the engine failed — power loss was reported in both engines. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating, while the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has begun investigating the vehicle-road accident. This information will clarify how many options the pilot had, and whether the car driver's survival was real luck.
