New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump may meet once again in June 2026. It is being said that the two leaders may meet during the G7 summit to be held in France. This is the period when the whole world is surrounded by many big crises.
This time the G7 meeting will be held in the city of Evian-les-Bains in France between 15 to 17 June. Leaders of the world's largest economies will gather here. Even though India is not a member of the G7, PM Modi is expected to be invited as a special guest once again. This trend has been going on for the last several years and the reason for it is clear, India's stature in the world is continuously increasing.
If both the leaders meet then the first thing to be discussed will be trade. There has been a tussle between America and India regarding tax for a long time, there may be an effort to resolve it. Apart from this, artificial intelligence, i.e., AI, will also be discussed. New rules are being made around the world regarding AI and India and America want to work together on this. The condition of the global economy will also be on the agenda. The financial condition of many countries is not good, there will be discussion on bringing it back on track.
There is also a possibility of discussion on the situation in the Middle East and the security of the Strait of Hormuz because a large part of the world takes oil from there. Supply chain, i.e. how goods can easily reach from one country to another, will also be an important issue.
Tension between Iran and America has increased significantly in the last few months. The eyes of the whole world are fixed on this. It is believed that this issue will definitely arise in G7. The Trump government is continuously talking to its friendly countries on this issue. India also has good relations with Iran, hence PM Modi can become an important link in this matter. India always wants peace in the Gulf countries because millions of Indians work there.
Being invited to G7 is a big thing for India. This is proof that India's voice is being heard in the world. India can get three big benefits from this summit. First, there will be an opportunity to increase trade with big countries. Second, there will be talk of partnership in matters of defense and security. Third, new partnerships can be found in the field of technology.
India's opinion matters in whatever major decisions are being taken in the world today. By going to G7, PM Modi will directly meet the top leaders of the world and present India's side. Overall, this June meeting is important for both India and America. If Modi and Trump meet, many old issues can be resolved and a new beginning can be made.
