International News: Russia has launched a powerful and deadly airstrike on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv. This happened after several Ukrainian drones attacked Moscow in recent days. In response, Russia sent more than 400 drones and many dangerous missiles toward Kyiv and other cities.

What Happened in Kyiv?

The Russian attack began in the afternoon.Loud explosions were heard across Kyiv, and thick smoke filled the sky. Russia used:

  • Hypersonic Kinzhal missiles (very fast and hard to stop)
  • Suicide drones called Geran-2 (426 were sent)
  • Other deadly missiles like Kalibr and Iskander

These missiles and drones hit residential buildings, schools, shopping areas, and even bomb shelters. Many people had to run for safety.

Panic in Metro Stations

As the bombing started, thousands of people rushed into Kyiv's underground metro stations to hide. But even some metro stations were damaged. People inside got trapped and some even had breathing problems due to smoke. In one area, the Ivano-Frankivsk region, people had only 2 minutes to evacuate after Russian fighter jets were spotted carrying deadly Kinzhal missiles.

Attacks in Other Cities Too

Russia launched attacks not only on Kyiv but also targeted Kharkiv, Sumy, and Zhytomyr. In Kharkiv, buildings were on fire after the drones hit. Emergency services were overwhelmed.

Why Did Russia Do This?

Russia’s attack was a reaction to Ukraine’s drone strikes on Moscow. Between July 17 and 21, Ukrainian drones hit parts of Moscow, including a weapons factory and even apartment buildings. Because of this, Moscow's airports had to stop many flights.

Russia's New Target: Ukrainian Army Training

Ukrainian sources say that now Russia is trying to destroy places where the Ukrainian army trains its soldiers. The goal is to stop Ukraine from sending new soldiers to the war.

Reports also claim that Russia is using American-made pickup trucks to launch Iranian-made Shahed drones by speeding up the trucks and releasing the drones mid-motion.
