Kyiv: Russia carried out a massive air attack on Ukraine's capital Kiev and its surrounding areas on Saturday morning. Kiev Governor Timur Tkachenko said that at least 27 people have died and 42 are injured in this attack. The figure may increase further.

How many houses were damaged?

Tkachenko informed on Telegram that at least 50 residential buildings were damaged in the attack. After the attack, a massive fire broke out, whose flames spread to several houses and a restaurant. Smoke is still rising in many areas and relief teams are searching for people under the debris.

Why are people being evacuated from Bucha district?

Bucha district has been most affected. In view of the danger, the administration has sent more than 380 people from there to safe places. The team is trying to rescue the people trapped in the debris and the injured are being taken to the hospital.

Why is concern increased due to continuous attacks on Kiev?

There have been continuous drone and missile attacks on Kiev for the last three days. Warehouses, shopping centers and logistics hubs were targeted on Friday also. Due to the continuous sound of sirens, people have to go to bunkers again and again, due to which the normal life in the capital has completely come to a standstill.

What was the impact on the economy?

The impact of continuous air strikes is not limited to security only. Offices, shops, warehouses and courier hubs have to be closed. Trains are getting late and business activities are coming to a halt. Warehouses of major Ukrainian retailers and book stores have also been destroyed this week.

Are relief efforts still underway?

Rescue teams are still on the spot. The first priority of the administration is to treat the injured and rescue the trapped people. The damaged buildings are being examined so that anyone buried under the debris can be rescued. The complete figure of deaths will be clear only after the relief work is completed.
