Trump, Putin hold phone talks; leaders likely to meet in Hungary over war discussions

On Friday, he spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the phone and called it an important step towards peace. Trump shared information about the conversation on his social media platform, Truth Social.

According to Trump, the conversation with Putin was positive. The two leaders discussed possible ways to end the Ukraine war. Apart from this, the issue of further strengthening trade relations between America and Russia in the future was also discussed in detail. Trump said that Putin listened seriously to all the proposals and has agreed to meet face-to-face soon.

Middle East peace also discussed

During the conversation, Putin praised America's role in establishing peace in the Middle East. Trump said that Putin said that America has done what no one could do for centuries. Trump is confident that this initiative to bring stability to the Middle East will also prove helpful in resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Mention of Melania Trump

Trump said that during the conversation, Putin also praised the social work of America's First Lady Melania Trump. Both the leaders have agreed to hold a meeting of high-level advisors of the two countries next week. This meeting will be led by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

May meet in Budapest

Trump indicated that he and Putin could meet in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. The purpose of this meeting will be to decide the future strategy to end the Russia-Ukraine war. After this, Trump will meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House and discuss the progress of talks with Russia.
