New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit India to attend the BRICS summit to be held in New Delhi on September 12 and 13, 2026, according to Russia's state-run news agency, citing Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
According to the Russia's state-run news agency TASS, While confirming about the Russian president Vladimir Putin's second trip to India in less than a year, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that “Putin will definitely take part in the BRICS 2026 Summit in New Delhi.”
Russian president Vladimir Putin had earlier visited India in December for the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit in December 2025, during which he held extensive talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on expanding bilateral cooperation across key sectors.
The 18th BRICS Summit, to be held in New Delhi, will be held under India's chairmanship. The summit comes at a time of heightened geopolitical uncertainty, including ongoing tensions in West Asia involving the US and Iran.
According to media reports, Russia's Foreign Minister has stated that Moscow is also preparing to host Prime Minister Narendra Modi this year. Consequently, relations between the two countries are expected to deepen.
