International News:In the manifesto released after the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held in Tianjin in China's hosting, member countries termed the US tariff policy against international rules. It clearly stated that unilateral economic restrictions harm global trade and a sense of cooperation.
The major part of the manifesto focused on strengthening mutual economic relations. Member countries agreed that business in national currencies would be given priority, reducing the dependence on dollars. Also, emphasis was laid on the establishment of SCO Vikas Bank and on making the role of the Interbank Association (IBA) more effective.
The manifesto strongly condemned the recent American and Israeli attacks on Iran. In this, Iran was advocated to further add to the economic structure of the organization to reduce the impact of US sanctions.
Member countries raised the demand to increase the participation of developing countries in International Financial Institutions—the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the International Reconstruction and Development Bank (IBRD). He says that the existing financial structure is unbalanced, and without improving it, it is not possible to have fair global competition.
Regional security-related issues were also discussed in the manifesto. The member countries stressed the Pahalgam attack and Pakistan's terrorist attack on the train in Balochistan, stressing shared efforts against terrorism.
Political analysts believe that this manifesto is a collective message against the US policies. It also provides an opportunity for countries like India to find new business and strategic options. Experts say that the SCO is no longer a regional organization but has started showing the ability to decide the direction of the new global system.
