Mexico City: A strong earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale struck Mexico City on Friday. President Claudia Sheinbaum was addressing a press conference when the tremors hit.

The EMSC (European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre) reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was near Acapulco in Guerrero state. Despite strong tremors felt in parts of the capital, President Sheinbaum later stated that no serious damage had been reported in Guerrero so far.
Authorities said that assessments of the earthquake's impact are ongoing, and emergency services remain on high alert.
