World News: A devastating tragedy struck the U.S. state of Texas on Friday morning after a powerful storm unleashed sudden and torrential rainfall. Within just 45 minutes, the water level of the Guadalupe River surged by an alarming 26 feet, causing a catastrophic flash flood. As of now, 43 people have been confirmed dead, including nine children, and 27 others remain missing. Relief and rescue operations are currently underway.

Summer Camp Turns into Scene of Tragedy

The most severe impact of the flood was felt at a summer camp, where approximately 750 children were camping near the riverbank. The water level rose so rapidly that the children and instructors had no time to react. Many children were swept away by the floodwaters. Authorities have reported that 23 of the missing individuals are young girls from the camp, and multiple rescue teams are working tirelessly to locate them.

Massive Rescue Operation Amid Flood Havoc

Kerr County received approximately 10 inches (25 centimeters) of rain overnight, along with powerful winds that intensified the severity of the flooding. Some individuals managed to save themselves by climbing trees. So far, emergency responders have successfully rescued over 800 people. The ongoing rescue mission includes nine specialized teams, 14 helicopters, and 12 drones. In several flooded areas, boats are being used to assist in evacuations.

Flash Flood Emergency Declared by Authorities

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood emergency for Kerr County and its surrounding regions. Meteorologists have warned that heavy rain and flooding could persist for the next 24 hours, especially in the Texas Hill Country. Residents in vulnerable areas have been urged to stay alert and relocate to safer ground.

Response from President and State Officials

Speaking aboard Air Force One, President Donald Trump called the disaster "horrific" and assured that federal aid will be provided to all affected communities. Texas Governor Greg Abbott stated that rescue efforts continued throughout the night and are expected to carry on through the weekend. He stated that the government stands with every affected family and will ensure they receive full support.

Families Plead for Help on Social Media

Grief-stricken families of the missing have shared photos of their loved ones on the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, desperately appealing for help in finding them. The region is currently gripped by panic, grief, and uncertainty as many continue to await news of their missing children.

What began as an innocent summer adventure turned into a national tragedy. This flood in Texas is not just a natural calamity—it is a shared sorrow felt across the country. As rescue efforts continue and weather threats linger, America holds its breath, hoping and praying for the safe return of every missing child.
