U.S. President Donald Trump strongly criticised both Israel and Iran for not respecting a ceasefire that had been agreed upon earlier. He expressed his frustration, saying that both countries had been fighting for so long that they no longer knew what they were doing.

In posts on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump warned Israel against further airstrikes. He wrote: “ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS... BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!” He emphasised that a ceasefire was in place and there should be no more attacks.

Ceasefire Timeline and Breakdown

Earlier, US President Trump had announced a full ceasefire between Iran and Israel. According to him, Iran would begin observing the ceasefire first, followed by Israel 12 hours later, with full peace taking effect after 24 hours.

This ceasefire came shortly after Iran launched a missile attack on a U.S. airbase in the Middle East. Trump stated in his post that Israel and Iran might exchange final attacks in the hours before the ceasefire was fully implemented.

Behind-the-Scenes Talks

A global news agency reported that Qatar played a crucial role in securing Iran’s agreement to the ceasefire. The country’s prime minister spoke with Iranian officials after Trump asked Qatar’s emir to help persuade Iran. Trump claimed that Israel had already agreed and needed Iran to do the same. Despite the ceasefire announcement, violence resumed quickly. Iranian missiles hit an Israeli city, killing four people and injuring others. This reignited tensions on both sides.

Ongoing Airstrikes and Trump’s Reaction

Israel responded with a limited strike on an Iranian radar facility. Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu reportedly agreed during a phone call that Israel should carry out only a symbolic attack rather than a full-scale response. Trump warned again through social media for Israel to stop the attacks. Trump also mentioned that U.S. planes had successfully destroyed Iranian nuclear targets and claimed Iran would not be able to rebuild those facilities.
