International News: U.S. President Donald Trump is known for making sudden decisions. Two days ago, he surprised everyone by announcing a 25% tariff on Indian goods. Just after that, he praised Pakistan and said the U.S. has made a trade and oil deal with them. As if that wasn't enough, he reduced the high tariff on Pakistan from 29% to 19%.

Trump Favors Pakistan, Disappoints India

While Pakistan was given a 10% tariff discount, India received only a 1% cut—from 26% to 25%. Many believe that Pakistan’s leaders are winning Trump’s favor by flattering him. In return, Pakistan is being rewarded with easier trade terms. Trump's recent actions show that he is more flexible with Pakistan than with India.

Pakistan to Buy Expensive U.S. Oil

Reports say Pakistan has agreed to buy oil from the U.S. at high prices. Experts feel that Pakistan is using this as a trick to make Trump happy. Some compare this situation to old royal stories, where kings were surrounded by flattering ministers who were rewarded for fake praise. Trump, some believe, is falling into that same pattern.

Trump Wants a Nobel Peace Prize

Trump has a strong desire to win the Nobel Peace Prize. In a press briefing, his press secretary listed several global conflicts where Trump supposedly helped bring peace—such as between Israel and Iran, India and Pakistan, and more. She claimed that Trump helped stop wars and made peace deals during his time in office. Now, they say, he deserves the Nobel Prize.

Helping Pakistan for a Noble Dream?

Many believe Trump is helping Pakistan only to appear like a global peacemaker. Even though Pakistan has a record of supporting terrorism, Trump is showing support. In return, Pakistan has promised big oil reserves and trade deals. But the truth is, Pakistan has no proven oil reserves. In 2019, former PM Imran Khan had made a similar claim, which was later rejected by Pakistan’s own Petroleum Ministry.

Tariff Cut Looks Big, But It’s Not

Though Trump gave Pakistan a 10% tariff cut, the real impact is very small. Pakistan’s exports to the U.S. are low, around ₹33,000 crore. So, the tariff discount won’t help them much. Experts say both countries are fooling each other—Pakistan with fake oil promises and the U.S. with empty trade hopes.

Why Trump Is Angry With India

India has refused to accept unfair U.S. trade deals. It also did not stop buying oil from Russia, which upset Trump. American ministers have spoken against India, saying it supports Russia indirectly by buying oil. The U.S. is frustrated because India does not give in to pressure.

India Says: Nation First, No Compromise

India has clearly stated that the interests of its people come first. It will not sign any deal that harms farmers or small businesses. Trump knows India is a tough negotiator, unlike other countries. This is why deals with India are not moving forward easily. Meanwhile, Trump’s trade rules are also damaging America's ties with other allies.
