This delivery follows months of delay during which the United Nations warned repeatedly about escalating famine risks across the region.

Trump’s Call for a Ceasefire Deal

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump urged Israel to reach a hostage exchange agreement with Hamas. He even stated while posting on Truth Social,,“MAKE THE DEAL IN GAZA. GET THE HOSTAGES BACK!!!”His message underscores a growing urgency to resolve the prolonged crisis.

Netanyahu Seizes ‘New Opportunities’ Post-Ceasefire

In Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted at a potential breakthrough following a ceasefire involving Iran, describing it as opening “many opportunities.” During a visit to Shin Bet, Israel’s domestic intelligence agency, he said:“First of all, to rescue the hostages, we will also have to solve the Gaza issue, to defeat Hamas, but I estimate that we will achieve both tasks.”

Approximately 50 Israeli civilians, kidnapped by Hamas during the October 7, 2023 attack, remain in captivity. Families of these hostages expressed , welcoming Netanyahu’s renewed focus on their release after 20 months.

UN Voices Concern Over Humanitarian Approach

Not everyone is celebrating the aid delivery. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres publicly criticized the GHF’s operations in Gaza, calling them “inherently unsafe” and stating that, “it is killing people.” He accused the aid effort of inadvertently co-opting militarized zones and contributing to civilian displacement.

Guterres warned that UN led humanitarian routes are being “strangled,” he  added that even aid workers are struggling to survive.“People are being killed simply trying to feed themselves and their families. The search for food must never be a death sentence,” he said, calling for international “political courage” to secure a ceasefire.
