Washington: A new controversy has arisen regarding peace talks amid the ongoing tension between Iran and America. According to Iranian media, America has put five strict conditions on Tehran's proposal. This has dealt a blow to the hopes of reconciliation between the two countries.

Which five conditions did America put forward?

According to reports, America has made it clear that it will not pay any compensation for the war. Besides, Iran's assets which are frozen abroad will also not be opened. The third condition is that Iran will have to hand over about 400 kg of enriched uranium to America. The fourth condition states that Iran will be able to operate only one nuclear plant in its country. The fifth condition is that formal talks will have to be started to take the ceasefire forward.

How is Iran viewing these conditions?

Iranian experts have described these conditions as “coercion under the guise of diplomacy”. He says that under the pretext of talks, Washington wants to achieve all those military and strategic objectives which it could not achieve in direct war. Tehran feels that these conditions have been set for bending, not for agreement.

What conditions had Iran set earlier?

Earlier, Iran had also presented its demands to America. Tehran wants all the sanctions imposed on it to be removed. His assets frozen abroad should be returned. Also, war compensation should also be given. Another big demand of Iran is that its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz be recognized.

What will happen to the talks now?

After such strict conditions from both sides, peace talks seem to be derailed. America is not ready to back down from its demands and Iran is also in no mood to bow down. In such a situation, the ongoing efforts regarding ceasefire may go to waste. Experts believe that if no middle path is found then the tension will increase further. At present both the countries are rejecting each other's conditions. Due to this, hopes for peace in the Middle East are fading.
