New Delhi: Amidst the tension between America and Iran, everyone is watching the talks scheduled in Islamabad. Different types of things are coming to light regarding the meeting. On one hand it is being called an effort for peace, on the other hand it is also being considered a strategic step. At present the environment is such that talks are going on as well as preparations.
Some experts believe that this is not just talk. Experts also suggest that the American stance may indicate ongoing preparations alongside the talks. However, nothing clear has been said officially on this issue.
Indications suggest negotiations will be difficult. Iran has its own conditions and America has its own stance. Given the circumstances, the likelihood of achieving significant outcomes in the initial meeting is minimal.
The Strait of Hormuz is still at the center of this whole matter. A large part of the oil supply passes through this route, hence the movement here directly impacts the world market. This is why there is concern about this area.
This time, the location of the talks is also under discussion. The coming face to face of both sides in Islamabad is being considered a sign in itself. However, it is not yet clear how decisive Pakistan's role will be.
Political analyst Ian Bremmer believes that these talks cannot be just an attempt at peace. He says that Donald Trump is taking time through talks so that after completing military preparations, big steps can be taken, especially regarding Iran's strategic oil bases.
At present the picture is not clear. On one hand talks are going on, on the other hand the ground situation is still tense. In such a situation, it will be important to see whether these talks really go in the direction of peace or just prove to be a preparation before the next conflict.
