New Delhi: The horrific scene on the flight of Flydubai was no less than a film scene. Inside the cockpit, the Indian captain was lying on the floor in a pool of blood and the co-pilot was trying to crash the aircraft. Then a passenger showed courage and not only saved the life of the pilot, but also rescued 174 passengers from the mouth.

The incident took place on Flydubai flight FZ1073. Indian Captain Smit Machchhar was attacked with a knife by his own Omani co-pilot. The entire incident has been narrated by Israeli traveler Yaniv Hayun, who was traveling with his daughter Noah at the time.

The passenger saw the horrific scene

Yaniv is a plumber by profession. He said that when he reached the cockpit at the time of the attack, the door was open. Seeing the scene inside, his senses were blown away. Captain Smit was seriously injured and fell while the co-pilot was tampering with the plane's controls. "I thought the plane was going to crash," Hayun said. I, along with a crew member, pushed the door and barged in."

As soon as he got inside, Hayun grabbed the co-pilot from behind and pulled him out of control. The attacking pilot resisted and tried to get back into the cockpit, but the passengers pulled him out.

"You won't die today"

Hayun said as soon as he saw the wounded captain, "You will not die today. He said there was chaos in the cockpit at that time. Some people were helping the captain, while some were controlling the co-pilot. For a while, Hayun tried to take control of the plane himself, by which time two off-duty pilots traveling as passengers in economy class reached the cockpit and took control of the aircraft.

The Captain is the real hero

In a conversation with India Today, Hayun described Captain Smit as a real hero. He said that despite being injured, the captain showed wisdom and opened the door of the cockpit. If the door did not open, no one would have been able to come in and there would have been a big accident. "I can't even imagine how they faced the attacker even after so many injuries. If they hadn't opened the door, we would all have died," Hyun said. He wished the captain a speedy recovery and said he wanted to meet him and say thank you personally.
