New Delhi: Former RJD leader and former party candidate Suresh Prasad Yadav has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party just before the second phase of voting. His move has surprised many leaders in the RJD camp. The political atmosphere in Bihar is already very heated ahead of the election. Yadav joined the BJP in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. Political observers believe this decision may influence ground-level workers where Suresh Yadav has support. The timing of this shift is being seen as very strategic. It has happened exactly when campaigning has ended and voters are now forming their final opinions.

Why Did He Join BJP

After joining the BJP, Suresh Prasad Yadav stated that he has been impressed with the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and their work towards building roads, improving electricity access and pushing industrial development in the state, he said that he believes Bihar has moved forward because of strong governance rather than mere promises, joining the world’s largest political organization gives him pride and responsibility, he also mentioned that he felt RJD’s internal environment had changed over time and did not align with his vision anymore, this reason made him take the final decision, he thanked BJP leaders for accepting him respectfully and assured full dedication towards organizational work and election efforts.

Fifteen Years of Association Ends

Suresh Prasad Yadav had been associated with RJD for 15 long years and had contested the 2015 Bihar Assembly elections from Raxaul seat, though he lost that election, his identity in the region remained politically relevant, however in the 2020 elections his ticket was denied which led to disappointment and gradually created distance between him and the RJD leadership, he then attempted to contest independently but could not gain desired support, insiders say he was looking for a party where he could work freely and regain his influence, now joining BJP is seen as the closing of an old political chapter for him, this break marks a new path in his political journey.

Impact on RJD Strategy

The timing of this defection is significant because the second and final phase of voting is just a day away and voters in many constituencies are still making up their minds, RJD workers may feel discouraged as a senior loyal member leaving right before polling hints at internal dissatisfaction, BJP on the other hand may use this as a psychological advantage to send a message of growing confidence and expanding strength, analysts suggest that leadership of Tejashwi Yadav will be tested strongly after this shock, how the party manages internal morale in the next hours will be crucial, the situation adds another twist to an already heated Bihar election.

What BJP Gains from This Shift

For BJP, Suresh Prasad Yadav’s entry may help in improving its outreach in regions where RJD previously held emotional or caste-based connect, local network and credibility of Suresh can bring ground support to BJP candidates in several pockets, also the narrative of people joining BJP for development vision may resonate among undecided voters, BJP leaders are highlighting this move as proof that Nitish-Modi governance model is being accepted, the party may use Suresh’s statements in campaign messaging even if official campaigning has ended, political messaging continues in informal conversations among voters, thus his entry holds influence value.

Final Countdown to Voting

The election campaign for the second phase is already over and now the focus shifts entirely to voting booths where citizens will choose their next government, voters will decide whether Nitish Kumar continues his governance model or whether Tejashwi Yadav gets a chance to lead Bihar, the results will be declared on November 14 and the outcome will define the political future of the state, the atmosphere remains intense and unpredictable across districts, both alliances are claiming confidence publicly, but real decision lies in the hands of voters who have quietly observed every development including defections like this one, the state now waits for the final verdict.
