'Some Attempted To Mislead Gen Z': Dharmendra Pradhan Breaks Silence on Resignation Amid NEET Protests

New Delhi: BJP leader and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday said he stepped down from the post of Education Minister after attempts were made to "mislead" Gen Z during protests over the NEET (UG) paper leak controversy.

What did Dharmendra Pradhan say?

Pradhan broke his silence on his resignation while addressing students and teachers at GM University in Bhubaneswar, exactly two weeks after he stepped down amid massive protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi over the issue.

Speaking to students and faculty, Pradhan stated that his position was not more important to him than the aspirations of students. He stated that he had offered to resign as Union Education Minister only after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Pradhan has issued a statement on the entire incident after two weeks. 

"Gen Z is our children. Some people attempted to mislead them. I had no personal issues then. At least two crore children are born in India every year. During the last 10 years, 20 crore children were born. They have aspirations, and they will make India the 'Vishwa Guru'. The post was not important to me," Pradhan said.

It should be noted that Dharmendra Pradhan was the only Education Minister to serve five years in the PM Modi government.
