 71st National Film Awards 2025: The grand ceremony of the 71st National Film Awards took place at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi, marking a moment fans and the film industry had eagerly awaited. Superstar Shahrukh Khan was honored with his first National Award for his blockbuster film Jawan, and the announcement of his name was met with thunderous applause and cheers throughout the venue. The ceremony also celebrated other stalwarts of Indian cinema, including Vikrant Massey, Rani Mukerji, and Mohanlal, who were recognized for their exceptional performances and contributions. President Droupadi Murmu personally presented the awards to all the winners on stage, adding a special touch to the prestigious evening.

‘Jawan’ Earns Shahrukh Khan His Debut National Award

Shahrukh Khan won the hearts of the audience by playing a double role in Jawan. With powerful action, emotions, and a brilliant performance, the film broke several box office records. Now, this film has also earned him his first National Award. Shahrukh appeared in an all-black look, and as soon as he received the award, all the attendees stood up to welcome him.

Mohanlal Receives Dadasaheb Phalke Award

Malayalam cinema superstar Mohanlal was honored with the Indian film industry’s highest recognition, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Over a career spanning more than four decades, he has worked in over 400 films and established his acting prowess in roles ranging from comedy to thriller and serious characters. This award was dedicated to his lifelong contribution.

Rani Mukerji Becomes Best Actress

Rani Mukerji received the Best Actress award for her powerful role in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway. Her simplicity and happiness in a brown sari were clearly visible on stage. She said that this recognition is an extremely emotional moment for her.

Vikrant Massey and ‘12th Fail’ Receive Major Honors

Actor Vikrant Massey won the Best Actor award for the film 12th Fail. Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra was also honored for this film. Vikrant appeared in an off-white suit and won the hearts of fans. The film also won the Best Feature Film award.
