As part of the expansion plan, doctors posted at all Aam Aadmi Clinics in Mohali district underwent second-phase training, which concluded successfully today. Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain stated that the addition of these services will allow citizens to access essential healthcare closer to their homes. She emphasized that this initiative would reduce the need for people to travel long distances for basic treatments, saving both time and money.
During the training session, Director of Procurement Dr. Pawanpreet Kaur engaged with the medical staff to discuss the availability of essential medicines, medical equipment, and diagnostic kits. She confirmed that Aam Aadmi Clinics will soon be equipped with state-of-the-art tools for NCD screening and management, as well as enhanced resources for treating malnutrition in children and administering rabies vaccines.
Health specialists, including District Vaccination Officer Dr. Girish Dogra, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Tamanna Singhal, Epidemiologist Dr. Anamika Soni, Medical Specialist Dr. Ishan Sharma, and Dr. Inderpreet Kaur, delivered sessions on disease identification, early diagnosis, and basic treatment protocols. These expert-led discussions aimed to strengthen the capacity of doctors to handle a wider range of public health needs at the primary level.
Currently, 40 Aam Aadmi Clinics are fully operational in the Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali) district, providing free consultation, 48 different lab tests, and 117 essential medicines at no cost to patients. The state government envisions these clinics as a vital step toward ensuring affordable, accessible, and high-quality healthcare for every resident of Punjab.
