National News: Investigation agencies have started tightening the noose against Harshvardhan Jain, who was allegedly running a fake embassy from a rented bungalow in Ghaziabad's Kavinagar area and was involved in hawala business. The accused, who is on a five-day police remand, was brought to the bungalow on Wednesday (July 30), where he had been running illegal embassies of self-proclaimed countries for years.
The STF and Kavinagar police station team jointly brought Jain to the bungalow and started questioning him and searched for important documents. Officials hope that a major disclosure of the fraud committed in the name of foreign companies can be made from here.
On Wednesday, the police brought the accused Harshvardhan Jain to the bungalow from where he had been running an illegal embassy for a long time. The team seized the documents present there and, during interrogation, tried to find out in the name of which countries and companies this game was played.
Police investigation has revealed that Jain had gotten the fake seal of the Ministry of External Affairs made from near Patiala House Court in Delhi. The police will now take the accused there so that he can identify the person who made the seal. It is also being investigated on which documents these seals were put and how they were used.
The police have gotten much important information in the forensic investigation of Harshvardhan's mobile and laptop. The STF now wants to get to the bottom of where the money collected in the name of investment in fake companies came from and whose money was invested in it.
Harshvardhan has been sent on a five-day remand by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, under which the STF will interrogate him till August 2. The accused has been booked under several serious sections of the Indian Penal Code, including cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy.
