Air India Crash Probe Breakthrough: DVR and Black Box Recovered from Wreckage

National News: The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has recovered a digital video recorder (DVR) and black box from the debris of Air India crashed aircraft AI-171. This seizure can play an important role in reaching the bottom of the cause of the accident. The DVR was discovered from the wreck of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which crashed shortly after flying from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Thursday.

The accident took place near Meghani Nagar. The previous part of the aircraft is B.J. The UG hostel of the medical college fell on the mess, causing a stir on the spot. Soon after the accident, the team of Gujarat ATS reached the spot and started the work of gathering evidence. "We have recovered the DVR from the rubble. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team will take it for a quick examination," said a senior ATS official. This device may have a record of activities a few moments before the accident, which will prove to be decisive in the investigation.

Black box also recovered

 According to the report, ATS has also received the black boxes of the aircraft. Analysis of black boxes and DVRs will provide information about interaction between the pilot and the control tower during the flight, engine status, aircraft speed, height, and other technical data.

Will DVR get a big clue?

According to experts, the DVR may have video footage or technical data of the cockpit, which will make it clear why the aircraft suddenly lost control. The discovery of DVRs and black boxes can clear the picture of the last moments of the accident.

Details of the incident

Significantly, Air India flight AI-171 flew from Ahmedabad to London's Gatwick Airport on Thursday morning. There were 242 people in the aircraft, of whom

• 53 British citizens
• 7 Portuguese citizens
• 1 Canadian citizen

Apart from this, 12 crew members, including two pilots, were also present in the aircraft. The aircraft fell victim to technical problems in a few minutes of flying and crashed into a densely populated area. The death of 241 people in the accident has been confirmed.     

First step towards investigation

The FSL and a team of aviation experts will soon examine the DVR and black box. The data received from them will make it clear whether the accident occurred due to technical flaws or an external factor played a role in it. The complete report of the accident may take a few days to come out.
