National News: The shocking murder of a Class 10 student inside Seventh Day School, located in the Khokhara-Maninagar East area of Ahmedabad, has created an atmosphere of fear and anger across the city. The boy was attacked with a paper cutter, and the case has now been transferred to the Crime Branch for a detailed investigation. With nearly nine thousand students studying in this school, the incident has raised serious concerns about campus safety and the responsibility of the administration.

Chat Messages Expose the Accused

Soon after the incident, a chat conversation of the accused student came to light. In the messages, he openly admitted that he was responsible for the attack. What was more disturbing was his lack of regret. When a friend asked whether he was the one who used the knife, he replied with a simple “Yes.” He even wrote the victim’s name, Nayan Santani, in the conversation. The friend tried to make him realize that violence could have been avoided, suggesting that at most a physical fight should have taken place, but the accused dismissed it by writing, “Now whatever had to happen has happened.”

Administration Under Question

Education officer Rohit Chaudhary has ordered the school to conduct online classes until normalcy is restored. In his report to the state government, he pointed out that the school administration was negligent in handling the situation. He also raised questions about why the District Education Officer was not immediately informed of such a serious incident.

Parents of the victim have alleged that the boy was not taken to the hospital on time, which caused heavy blood loss. By the time his mother reached the school, his condition had already worsened.

Old Dispute Between Students

Preliminary information suggests that an earlier quarrel might have been the root cause of the tragedy. About a month ago, the deceased student had refused to eat non-vegetarian food offered by the accused. This small issue had led to ongoing tension between them. Parents have demanded that the practice of bringing non-vegetarian food to school should be stopped to avoid further conflicts.

Past Incidents Raise Concerns

This is not the first time the school has been in controversy. Earlier, a girl student committed suicide by jumping from the building after being harassed over obscene videos. In another case, a boy ended his life due to pressure from the school environment. Parents claim that in such matters, the Khokhara police have repeatedly tried to cover up the administration’s failures instead of taking strict action.

A Call for Accountability

The tragic killing has brought attention to the urgent need for stricter security measures in schools. Parents are demanding accountability from both the school management and the local authorities. The Crime Branch is now expected to conduct a transparent probe and ensure that such negligence is not repeated in the future.
