Five Congress MPs on Board

The flight had five Members of Parliament from the Congress party on board. Their names are KC Venugopal, Kodikkunnil Suresh, Adoor Prakash, K Radha Krishnan, and Robert Bruce. All five were traveling to Delhi.

Details Shared by KC Venugopal

KC Venugopal posted details about the flight on the social media site X. He said that the flight took off late from Thiruvananthapuram. Shortly after takeoff, passengers experienced strong turbulence, which made the flight uncomfortable.

About one hour into the flight, the pilot informed everyone that there was a technical issue with the plane. The problem was called a “signal fault.” Due to this and the bad weather, the pilot decided to divert the plane to Chennai for safety.

Safety Was the Top Priority

There were around 100 passengers and crew on board. The pilot’s top priority was to ensure the safety of all passengers. The airplane safely landed at Chennai airport without any injuries. This quick decision by the pilot helped avoid any accidents.

Why Flights Get Diverted

Sometimes airplanes face technical problems or bad weather. In these situations, pilots are trained to take crucial actions to keep passengers safe. Diverting to a nearby airport is a common step when continuing the flight might be risky.

Bad weather like storms and turbulence can make flying dangerous. So pilots watch weather updates carefully and change flight routes when needed.

Passengers Stay Calm During Emergencies

KC Venugopal said the crew handled the situation well. Passengers were informed about the problem and why the flight had to land in Chennai. It is important for travelers to stay calm and listen to the flight crew in such emergencies.
