National News: A painful incident has come to light in Uttarakhand's Bajun area which has shocked the entire village. Here, a father and daughter together consumed pesticide and gave up their lives. This family has been surrounded by the shadow of suicides earlier also. About 20 years ago, Gopal Dutt's wife and his younger brother also ended their lives in the same way. Now the same pain has again fallen on this family.
Gopal Dutt, who makes a living by driving a mule in the village, never let his daughter Bhagyashree feel poverty despite the financial condition of his family. He was engaged in fulfilling every small and big wish of his daughter. Bhagyashree was a student of DSB College and was trying to fulfill her dreams along with studies.
On Friday night, when everyone was sleeping, Gopal Dutt went to his daughter's room and saw that Bhagyashree was lying dead, a bottle of pesticide was also found nearby. This scene broke Gopal's patience. He immediately went to his father, but when he did not get a satisfactory answer from there, the grief-stricken Gopal went to the farm and consumed the same pesticide.
When Bhagyashree was just six months old, her mother committed suicide. A few days after this, Gopal's younger brother also committed suicide. At that time, Gopal single-handedly raised his younger son and little daughter. In the last two decades, the family has suffered many hardships, but this time the pain broke them.
As soon as the information of the incident was received, a wave of mourning ran through the entire village. Officials including the Revenue Inspector reached the spot and took the bodies to the hospital. Bhagyashree's maternal uncle, who lives in Delhi, expressed strong displeasure over the last rites being performed without coming to the village, due to which many villagers also withdrew from the process.
According to the neighbors, there was a rift between the father and daughter on Friday night over something. Bhagyashree had told neighbours that she would not stay at home as the pet dog would be left alone. Some youths said that Bhagyashree had also messaged a friend about consuming poison. However, the police have not confirmed any suicide note or message.
This incident is not only the tragic story of a family, but also the story of a complex and sensitive relationship where the balance between affection and disappointment is broken. It is also a serious warning to the family and the entire village that mental health and family conflicts should not be ignored.
