National News: Counter Intelligence Jalandhar has delivered a major blow to the terrorist outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) by busting one of its active modules. In a carefully planned operation, the police arrested several operatives linked to the Canada-based leadership of the banned organization. The crackdown has not only led to the recovery of hand grenades but also prevented possible terror attacks in Punjab.
The breakthrough began with the arrest of two BKI associates, Hrithik Narolia and a minor, from Rajasthan. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the police recovered 86-P hand grenades from their possession. Their interrogation provided vital clues about the larger network and its future plans.
Building on the leads, police arrested another accused, Vishwajeet, from Kolkata. He was attempting to escape to Malaysia when he was caught by the security agencies. At the same time, his accomplice Jackson was arrested in Nakodar. From his possession, police recovered a live hand grenade. Investigations have revealed that both Vishwajeet and Jackson were important links in the chain and were closely coordinating with handlers sitting abroad.
According to officials, the arrested accused were acting under the directions of Canada-based BKI leaders Zeeshan Akhtar and Ajay Gill. These handlers were providing instructions to carry out targeted attacks in Punjab with the aim of creating panic and destabilizing peace. The arrests have once again highlighted how international terror networks continue to exploit local youth for their agenda.
The probe has also revealed that in the last week of July, Vishwajeet and Jackson procured two hand grenades from Beas with the help of their associates. Shockingly, one of these grenades was already used to carry out a blast at a liquor shop in SBS Nagar around ten days ago. The blast had raised concerns about the reactivation of terror outfits in the region.
An FIR has been registered at Police Station State SSOC Amritsar in connection with the recovery and the blast. Police officials stated that further investigations are underway to trace other members of the module and to uncover the entire supply chain of arms and explosives.
Officials believe that this operation is a significant setback for Babbar Khalsa International’s plans in Punjab. By busting the module and arresting its key members, the police have successfully prevented a major conspiracy that was being orchestrated from abroad.
