From August 1, the Bhopal district administration has started a new rule to make roads safer. Now, anyone riding a two-wheeler without a helmet will not be allowed to refuel petrol or CNG at fuel stations. This rule is meant to help people follow traffic laws and reduce deaths from road accidents. All petrol pump staff in the city have been told to stop giving fuel to those who are not wearing helmets.

New Rule Brings Challenges at Fuel Stations

Shailendra Kumar Singh, who works at a fuel station in the city, said that this rule has created some odd situations. “Customers are swapping helmets among themselves. We request them not to do that and urge everyone to wear their own helmets. Some even argue with us, but we’re just doing our job and following orders,” he said while speaking to ANI.

Public Reaction to Helmet Mandate

A city resident said, “I didn’t know about this rule earlier, but I always wear a helmet. This is a good step.” Another local named Lalit shared his view, fully backing the rule. “I always wear a helmet for safety. I’ve had two or three accidents, but my head was protected only because I had a helmet on,” he said, underlining how crucial helmets are for saving lives.
