Bihar Assembly Election: JD(U) Releases First List of 57 Candidates

Ahead of Bihar Assembly election 2025, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United) has released the first list of 57 candidates today.

Bihar Assembly Election 2025: Ahead of Bihar Assembly election, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United) has today released its first list of 57 candidates from the 101 seats allotted to it under NDA seat sharing deal. 

The list candidates includes many other senior leaders and sitting MLAs:

  • Niranjan Kumar Mehta from Bihariganj
  •  
  • Vijay Kumar Choudhary, a minister in the state government, to contest from Sarai Ranjan
  • Narendra Narayan Yadav from AlamnagarRamesh Rishi Dev from Singheshwar
  • Kavita Saha from Madhepura
  • Gandeshwar Shah from Mahisi
  • Atirek Kumar from Kusheshwarsthan

Some other significant candidates include Dhumal Singh (Ekma), Anant Kumar Singh (Mokama), Maheshwar Hazari (Kalyanpur), Shyam Rajak (Phulwari), Kaushal Kishore (Rajgir), Madan Sahni (Bahadurpur), Ratnesh Sada (Sonbarsa), Santosh Kumar Nirala (Rajpur), Komal Singh (Gaighat), Shri Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha (Jagdishpur), and Vidya Sagar Singh Nishad (Morwa).

It is to be noted here that earlier, Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor in a press conference stated, "Of the 116 names released in the list, 25 were reserved. Of the 91 seats being released for the general category, 31 are allocated to the EBC community, 21 to the OBC community, and 21 to the Muslim community."
