Bihar Elections 2025: Bihar politics is about to be set ablaze! The nomination process for the first phase of the 121 assembly seats has concluded, and the picture is now crystal clear. A total of 315 nominations were rejected—meaning those candidates are out. Furthermore, 61 withdrew their nominations voluntarily. The result? 1,314 contestants remain in the fray! Voting will take place on November 6th, and the results will be declared on November 14th—then we will see who will become the new Lion of Bihar. Hold your breath; the action begins!

Top and Flop

As soon as nominations closed, the figures that emerged were laughable. Muzaffarpur and Kudhni had 20 candidates each—it seemed like the entire neighborhood had descended upon them! Meanwhile, Bhore, Alauni, and Parbatta had just 5 candidates each—a seemingly peaceful election. Patna has 149 candidates contesting 14 seats, with Paliganj having the highest number of candidates at 14. The capital has its own charm!

Seat Name Number of Candidates
Muzaffarpur 20
Kudhni 20
Paliganj 14
Bhore 5
Alauni 5
Parbatta 5

Triangular Contest!

This time the contest is even more exciting than the old NDA vs. India—Prashant Kishore's Jan Suraj has made it a triangular contest! Tej Pratap Yadav has fielded candidates in some seats, and BSP members are also making the rounds. In many places, there is a sibling feud within the Grand Alliance itself! Experts believe that the first phase will reveal who will hold power.

RJD vs. JD (U)

RJD and JD(U) placed the most bets in the first phase. RJD from the Grand Alliance contested 71 seats, while JD(U) from the NDA contested 75. BJP 48, Chirag Paswan's LJP-RV 14, Kushwaha's RLM 2, Manjhi's HAM 1. Grand Alliance: Congress 25, CPI-ML 14, VIP and CPI 6 each, CPM 3, IIP 2. NDA appears to be gaining the upper hand, but the alliance's complicated situation could become unresolved!

Alliance/Party Number of Seats
JD(U) (NDA) 75
BJP (NDA) 48
RJD (Indi Alliance) 71
LJP-RV (NDA) 14
Congress (Indi Alliance) 25
CPI-ML (Indi Alliance) 14
