Bihar: In the Bihar Assembly Election 2025, the NDA alliance made a historic win with a 202 mandate. In the election, the JDU as well as the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) broke their previous record of 2020 elections. In this election, the BJP emerged as the single largest party by obtaining 89 assembly seats while Nitish Kumar's JDU secured 85 seats. In the election, other NDA alliances including LJP(RV), HAM, and RLM also showed better performance.
If reports are to be believed, Nitish Kumar will take oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the 10th time. Meanwhile, the NDA allies are also expected to major positions in the cabinet. It is worthy to be mentioned here that the process to form new government in Bihar got momentum after the issuance of the notification for the 18th Bihar Assembly.
As per the reports, the Election Commission will elaborate the Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan about the election results following which he will end the Model Code of Conduct.
Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar has stated that he will take the cabinet meeting on Monday. During the cabinet meeting, the important topic of discussion would be dissolution of the outgoing 17th Assembly. Later, Nitish Kumar is expected to meet the Bihar governor and then submit his resignation letter.
As per the reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as well as many other Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, and Deputy Chief Ministers, and other prominent leaders from the alliance, are expected to be present at the event.
After the historic victory in Bihar, Nitish Kumar took to his X and posted, ''In the Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections-2025, the people of the state have expressed their confidence in our government by giving us a massive majority. For this, I bow to all the esteemed voters of the state, and express my heartfelt gratitude and thanks.''
He added, ''I express my heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for the support received from him, while bowing to him.''
He further added, ''The NDA alliance has achieved a massive majority in this election by demonstrating complete unity. For this massive victory, thanks and gratitude are also due to all the partners of the NDA alliance - Shri Chirag Paswan Ji, Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi Ji, and Shri Upendra Kushwaha Ji.''
''With the support of all of you, Bihar will progress even further and will be included in the category of the most developed states in the country,'' he stated further.
