National news: The Congress party in Bihar is facing a major internal crisis. Discontent over ticket distribution has burst into the open. Several senior leaders openly accused Pradesh in-charge Krishna Allavaru and state chief Rajesh Ram of selling tickets. They allege money decided candidacies, not loyalty or performance. This revolt has not only embarrassed the party but also weakened its position within the Mahagathbandhan alliance. The storm comes just weeks before the first phase of polling.

Anand Madhavan resigns in protest

Congress spokesperson and Research Cell chairman Anand Madhavan resigned, declaring the party would not even reach double digits. His sharp criticism has intensified the crisis, exposing deep rifts.

Ticket denial fuels outrage

Leaders denied tickets held a press conference against the party leadership. Figures like Gajanand Shahi, Chhatrapati Yadav, and others joined hands. They accused the leadership of betrayal and bias.

Chhatrapati Yadav replaced suddenly

Former Khagaria MLA Chhatrapati Yadav was dropped this election. Instead, AICC secretary Chandan Yadav was nominated. Many workers are upset since Chandan lost in 2020 from Beldaur against JDU.

Alliance coordination falls apart

The Mahagathbandhan has failed to finalize seat-sharing. Several seats have multiple candidates from the same alliance. This confusion risks splitting votes and weakening their chances against the BJP-led NDA.

NDA poised to gain ground

The rift within Congress and poor alliance coordination could help the BJP. Analysts suggest the NDA might gain decisive leads in close contests due to opposition infighting.

JMM adds to the woes

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha announced it will contest independently in six Bihar constituencies. This move further fragments the opposition alliance, deepening Congress’s troubles before the crucial elections.
