Patna: The long battle for 243 seats in two phases of Bihar assembly elections ended on Friday. According to reports, the polarization of OBC and EBC votes was in favor of NDA, while the Muslim-Yadav alliance of the Grand Alliance failed. Congress leader Udit Raj blamed the defeat on SIR (Special Intensive Revision) instead of EVM. Said, "This is the victory of the Election Commission, the murder of democracy."

What did Udit Raj say?

Udit Raj said in the press conference that "Not NDA, SIR, is on the lead. This is not the victory of BJP-JDU, but the victory of the Election Commission. He said that 89 lakh objections were registered, but the Commission did not answer even one. Lakhs of discrepancies were reported, yet they kept silence. Opposition votes were deducted. Rahul and Tejashwi's rallies were packed, while BJP's chairs were empty. BJP candidates were chased away at many places. Then how did this victory happen? Even after the voter list was finalized, voters were sent to it. This is dishonesty, murder of democracy. Congress called it an 'institutional conspiracy,' but NDA rejected it and said that the opposition has an old habit of not accepting defeat.

Is NDA moving towards a double century?

It is clear from the Election Commission data that NDA is expected to get 200 seats. BJP is leading on 81, JDU on 80, LJP (Ram Vilas) on 22, and HAM (Secular) on 4. In the Grand Alliance, RJD is ahead on 33 seats, Congress on 5, and the Left on 3 seats only. NDA dominated among OBC (51%) and SC/ST. Got the benefit of an increase in reservation after the caste survey. Tejashwi's rallies were full, but the voter list cleanup hurt the opposition.

Failure of Grand Alliance—Why did OBC-Muslim unity break?

Exit polls made it clear that NDA got 51% of votes among OBCs, and MGB got 40% of votes. MGB definitely has Muslim votes (78%), but Nitish's magic worked in EBC (36%). RJD fielded 67 Yadav candidates, but JDU remained dominant in BC (27%). The credit for the caste survey goes to NDA, while the opposition's outreach proved to be a failure. 66.93% average turnout—women and youth gave a boost to NDA.

Is the return of the Nitish government confirmed?

Counting of votes is currently going on. NDA is heading towards 200 seats. Will Udit Raj's SIR charge reach the Supreme Court? Or will NDA's victory give a new direction to Bihar?
