Bihar Elections 2025: Draft voter list released; claims & objections open from 3 PM

National News: The Election Commission has completed the Special Intensive Revision of the electoral roll for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. On Friday, the Commission officially released the draft voter list. Now, voters can verify their names and details in the list and submit applications to add, delete, or correct entries as needed.

The Commission has confirmed that the draft voter list will be uploaded on its official website after 3 PM:

Timeline for claims and objections

Citizens can submit claims and objections from August 1, 2025, to September 1, 2025.

During this period, voters can:

• Add missing names
• Correct inaccuracies
• Request deletion of bogus entries

Special voter camps

Starting August 2, special camps will be held across:

• Block offices
• Nagar Panchayats
• Nagar Parishads
• Municipal Corporations

Applications will be accepted daily from 10 AM to 5 PM.

At the end of each day, officials will sort applications assembly‑wise and booth‑wise.

Required forms

• Form‑6: To add a name (for those not listed or who turn 18 by July 1, 2025).
• Form‑7: To request deletion of a wrong or bogus entry.
• Form‑8: To correct details or request transfer of name.
• Citizens applying from outside Bihar must also attach a declaration form.

• Role of BLO

• BLOs will personally visit the homes of elderly and differently‑abled voters to collect their applications.
• Acknowledgement receipts will be issued for every application submitted.

Publicity and security arrangements

• Every camp will have at least two staff members, including a computer operator, as per BDO instructions.
• District Magistrates, SPs, and SSPs will ensure adequate police deployment for safety.
• Camps will maintain video and photo documentation for records.
