Bihar: In a major development in the Bihar government formation, Bihar Chief Minister-designate Nitish Kumar has been elected as the leader of the Janata Dal United (JDU) legislature party on November 19. 

This is an unanimous decision and was taken during an internal meeting of party legislators in Patna on Wednesday. It is to be noted here that the decision is a landmark as it was taken after the recent Bihar election result announcement and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) emerged vistorious in the recently concluded Assembly elections in Bihar.

Meanwhile, it is to be noted here that Nitish Kumar will be soon elected as the leader of the NDA in Bihar, before the new government formation in the state on November 20, as per the party leader. As per the sources, Nitish Kumar will meet Governor Arif Mohammad Khan in the evening today, and will urge him to initiate the process for the formation of the new government, said the JD(U) leader.

The state minister Shrawon Kumar said, ''JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar was chosen as the leader of its legislature party during a meeting of newly elected MLAs in Bihar's capital Patna on Wednesday.''

When will Nitish Kumar take oath as Bihar CM?

After the recently concluded Bihar Assembly Election, the state is all set to get a new chief minister. Nitish Kumar is all set to take oath as Bihar CM for a record 10th time on November 20. Nitish Kumar's oath ceremony will take place around 11:30 am at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Ahead of the oath ceremony, Nitish Kumar will present a letter of support from all alliance partners of the NDA to the governor. Meanwhile, it is to be noted here that the current assembly will be dissolved on Wednesday.
