Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has warned the Marathi community to remain alert regarding the upcoming Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. During the inauguration of MNS's Konkan Mahotsav, Raj Thackeray said that this election could be the last for Marathi Manus. If vigilance is not maintained, Mumbai will go out of hand forever. Thackeray mentioned the irregularities in the voter list and took part in the united march of the opposition.
An attempt to unite the Marathi vote bank?
Thackeray said that the BMC elections will be the last important election for the Marathi people. Don't be careless; otherwise, loss is certain. If Mumbai goes out of control, these people will create havoc. He added that the night is dangerous and to be alert around yourself. Politics is changing. Look at whether the voters are real or fake. Thackeray also raised questions on the Election Commission's voter list handling.
What does Raj's distance from BJP and closeness to Uddhav mean?
Raj Thackeray had supported Mahayuti in the 2024 Lok Sabha, but MNS suffered a setback in 2024 Assembly. Now the focus is on BMC (January 2026), and Thackeray is coming closer to Uddhav Thackeray (Shiv Sena UBT). Both the cousins are now united on Marathi identity, and Congress is keeping distance from MNS. Will this alliance challenge BJP?
Congress announces to fight alone—objection to MNS, danger of MVA breaking?
Congress decided to contest alone in BMC. Mumbai Chief Varsha Gaikwad said that he is not with the feuding parties (MNS). Vijay Wadettiwar supported it, but Gaekwad rejected it. Congress's stand will be to save Hindi-speaking and Muslim voters. Due to a split in the MVA, Sharad Pawar joined hands with Uddhav-Raj. Will this break benefit BJP?
BMC election stake: BJP's 103 unopposed?
Voting for 246 city councils and 42 nagar panchayats will be held on December 2, and the results will be announced on December 3. Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections will be held in January. The Supreme Court has given the deadline till 31 January 2026. BJP has elected 103 unopposed (100 corporators, 3 presidents) in the withdrawal of nominations. Will Raj's 'Marathi Manoos' call garner a vote bank?
