Tent Tragedy Stuns Bageshwar Dham! 1 Dead, 10 Hurt Ahead of Shastri’s Birthday

National news: A major accident occurred at the Bageshwar Dham complex in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. Due to strong winds, a tent collapsed, killing one devotee and injuring ten others. The devotees had gathered on Thursday morning to celebrate Dhirendra Shastri's birthday. According to media reports, the incident took place during the Aarti, when sudden heavy winds brought down the tent. Several people were trapped underneath, triggering panic and complete chaos.

Why was there a big gathering?

The devotees had assembled to celebrate the well-known figure Dhirendra Shastri's birthday. The incident that took place during Aarti has stunned everyone. According to media reports, poor construction of tents along with strong winds is the reason behind this tragedy. Shyam Lal Kaushal, a 50-year-old person, died on the spot. His hometown was Ayodhya, but he resided in the Basti district of Uttar Pradesh. The other family members, who lived nearby, had to reach Chhatarpur. The injured were rescued and taken to the hospital.

Garha decorated for Dhirendra Shastri's birthday

The Bageshwar Dham complex in the Garha Village, located in the Chhatarpur district of Bundelkhand, has been decorated beautifully to celebrate Peethadeeshwar Dhirendra Shastri's birthday, which is today, 4th July. The district will witness various religious programs starting from today until Guru Purnima. More than 50 thousand devotees are expected to gather for Guru Purnima and the birth anniversary. The celebrations have already begun in the Garha village. Pt. Dheerendra Krishna Shastri organized Balaji's Divya Darbar from 1st to 3rd July.

Preparations started long before

The preparation for this event started very early. The Guru Diksha Mahotsav, set to take place on the 7th and 8th of July at the Guru Mantra Dham, will see many devotees receive the Guru Mantra. The person in charge of the initiation ceremony, Chakrash Sullere, said that the preparations for Guru Diksha Mahotsav had started way before. Meanwhile, the local authorities and police have become more attentive towards the big gathering of devotees.
