Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai launched three new trains on Sunday, including the Raipur-Jabalpur Intercity Express. The event was joined virtually by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, who together launched the new train services. This step is seen as a major move to improve rail connections between Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
Speaking at the event, CM Vishnu Deo Sai said it is a proud moment for Chhattisgarh to get another train between Raipur and Jabalpur. He showed his thanks to the prime minister and the railway minister for providing this train. He said, "On behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh, I thank them for the Raipur Express. Ever since Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, the railway budget has gone up every year, and many stations are being upgraded. We also got a new train for Bastar, which is a big help,” he said. He pointed out that earlier, only one train was running between Chhattisgarh and Jabalpur, and now there is a second one.
In a post on X (earlier called Twitter), CM Sai said that the new intercity train between Raipur and Jabalpur was launched online by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The train was flagged off from Raipur Railway Station by Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh. The Chief Minister said this train will improve the connection between Raipur and Jabalpur, which are both known for their culture and education. It will also make travel easier between Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh. He expressed thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Railway Minister for making this possible. He also mentioned that MP Brijmohan Agrawal, MLA Motilal Sahu, Purandar Mishra, and other key figures were present at the event.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister also shared his thoughts on X. He said he joined the online event from Ujjain, where the Jabalpur-Raipur Express and the Rewa-Pune Hadapsar Express were started along with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Railway Minister for giving these new train services to the people of Madhya Pradesh. The newly launched trains are expected to make travel easier and improve connections among the three states.
