On the other hand, continuous rains in Uttarakhand, Mumbai and many areas of the west coast are causing problems for the people.

The weather changed completely after the late-night rain in Delhi-NCR. People got relief from the humid heat that had been prevailing for several days and a drop in the temperature was also recorded. The Meteorological Department says that the monsoon has now reached most parts of North-West India.

According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy to very heavy rain in Maharashtra, Goa, Konkan, South Gujarat and some parts of Central India for the next few days. Red alert has been issued for these areas. There is a possibility of heavy rain in some districts of Odisha also.

Orange alert has been issued in view of continuous rain in Uttarakhand. There is a danger of landslides and rising water levels of rivers in hilly areas. Devotees and local people going on Chardham Yatra have been appealed to undertake the journey only keeping in mind the weather. SDRF teams have also been kept ready as a precaution.
