After the Indian air strikes in Pakistan late Tuesday night in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, Delhi Police and central security agencies have issued a high-level security alert in the capital.
Tight security at key locations
Delhi Police has tightened security at all major places to ensure the safety of people and prevent any untoward incident. Security has been increased, especially in all the crowded major markets. Para commandos have been deployed in light strike vehicles for quick response at India Gate. Security of high-rise buildings has also been increased.
Bomb disposal squads are carrying out intensive checks before shops are allowed to open in major markets. Individuals entering the markets are being frisked to prevent any lapse in security.
Special teams were formed for the investigation
Special teams have been formed to check guest houses, hotels, second-hand car dealers, and other potential soft targets besides public places. The police have resumed the verification drive .The Delhi Police has appealed to the people to immediately inform the police control room about any suspicious person or object.
Police gave these instructions to the people
The police officer says that landlords and hotel owners have been instructed to ensure proper verification of tenants and guests. If they notice anything suspicious, they should immediately report it to the police. The Delhi Police has also strengthened coordination with intelligence agencies and is keeping a strict vigil on sensitive areas through CCTV surveillance and mobile patrolling.
Security checkpoints have been set up at various entry and exit points across the city.
Patrolling has been especially increased at night. The police is also keeping a close watch on internet media to monitor the spread of misinformation and prevent it from spreading.
